I was incredibly lucky as a kid to be able to spend whole summers at a time in the foothills behind Marbella. Given my childhood was now decades ago, the area had not yet been infiltrated by high heeled orange people, though it was already known as a millionaire's playground. Indeed, the golf course on which our abode was situated was also home to Sean Connery. I have returned every year since my first summer trip there and, despite the obvious changes it has seen, I still love the place. Recently I was lucky enough to go on a trip to one of my favourite cities in Europe: Barcelona. My partner in crime and I had a wonderful stay and tried to experience the city as a true native. Having both been to Barcelona before, we stayed clear of the tourist traps.
