I love art. Yet, I really struggle to hang pictures in a way that shows my pieces off to their best. I think, partly, this is due to having quite eclectic tastes, but, mainly, during my degree I missed the module about hanging an exhibition. With this in mind, and many a blank wall in my new house, I asked the wonderful Marie Burden of Cobalt Interiors for help on this issue. Her tips were so useful that I decided to put them here on my blog for all to view. The pictures come from her website, which I urge everyone to view. I heart her aesthetic!Read More

For this week’s blog, I thought I would go back to basics and focus on one of my favourite art mediums: black and white photography. I have taken this opportunity to turn some of my most popular past images into a new composition by stripping out the colour and focussing, instead, on tones and linear qualities of my images. I have included a braod range of genres – street, landscape, and of course my beloved flowers.Read More
So I have a confession to make. I have been to Berlin twice in my life now, both for very different reasons, and I still feel like I don't know very much about the city. That's not to say I don't like it. Quite the opposite. I think, perhaps, my downfall has been that I have liked it a little too much.Read More
Last week, my Singapore buddies got married in a small, intimate wedding on the beautiful island of Barbados. Whilst they are the type of friends for whom I would travel to Magaluf to see them marry, it was a real treat to have the opportunity to go to one of my favourite places.Read More
I was incredibly lucky as a kid to be able to spend whole summers at a time in the foothills behind Marbella. Given my childhood was now decades ago, the area had not yet been infiltrated by high heeled orange people, though it was already known as a millionaire's playground. Indeed, the golf course on which our abode was situated was also home to Sean Connery. I have returned every year since my first summer trip there and, despite the obvious changes it has seen, I still love the place. Yes, it can almost verge on tacky in parts, but those parts are few and far between - regardless of what the gossip pages of the Daily Mail may suggest.Read More
At home, in Paderborn, I live an 8 hour drive away from my family and friends who reside in my home town of London. Yes, I could fly, but due to logistics to and from the airport on the continent, my husband and I often choose to get on the autobahn and head west to Calais, and then up to London from Dover. Recently, however, I had the brainwave to stop off for a couple of nights en route at Brugge. It was one of the best ideas I have ever had. I was overwhelmed by both the beauty and strength of the beer that Brugge provides.Read More
When I was a kid, Bali was a dream destination for me. Looking back, I have no idea why as I had never been taught about it or learnt its culture. Or even where it was. Yet it took hold on my list of things to do when I am older and luckily enough for me, at the end of last year I was able to tick it off.Read More
My envy during the recent Paris Fashion week was twofold. Not only did I crave the clothes, I was beyond jealous at all those who were spending time in the city of lights.
I heart Paris.Read More
