My name is Rachel Carr and I started This Is Carrt in 2014 when my husband's job moved to Germany and I decided to give up my day job in the city and go with him on the adventure! I had always loved to travel and write, and was also passionate about photography so one day I sat down and mingled all three of them on this website and my Etsy page. I write about a wide range of things like how to cope with airline hand luggage allowances to what to wear to any destination wedding. However, when I write up a holiday destination, there are more often than not a few common themes linking what are otherwise very different places:

1) Food. I love to eat. It structures my day to day life as well as any trip that I go on. I think food is a great way to start to experience a new culture as well as meeting new people.

2) Value. I don't get swayed by places to be seen and clothing to be seen in for the sake of it. I hate being ripped off. Be that by a fiver or by hundreds of pounds. If an activity or an excursion I go on is expensive but an amazing experience, I will still highly recommend it, but won't recommend it simply because it is deemed luxury.

3) Beauty. I love looking at pretty things. They don't have to have a purpose!

Please do follow This Is Carrt on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

How To Wear Pink This Season - Top Ten Fuschia Fashion Items

Rachel Carr

Pink is having a bit of a fashion moment at present. I've personally always loved the colour from the moment I picked up my first Barbie. This Spring Summer though it has a grown up edge and none of the items I have picked for my top ten this week can be described as girly. After reading the below you'll find how to wear pink this season so so easy. Additionally, it's a colour that has a tone to flatter all and below is a selection in several shades from baby pink to bright fushcia so there is something for everyone.

Lace Top, River Island River Island isn't often a shop that I venture into, but whenever I do, I'm always pleasantly surprised once I've managed to get passed the 'only for teenagers' section. This top is a perfect example of something incredibly wearable given its subtle colour and delicate lace. It's demure yet a little bit sexy and so an easily approachable way to insert a bit of feminine pink into your wardrobe.

Court shoes, Marks and Spencer Ah feminine, high heeled shoes, let me count the ways that I love you. This pair of salmon pink courts with stylish leather bow detailing, look  high end yet are from my new favourite shop, Marks and Spencer. (More on that here). Pink shoes are a great way to partake in this latest colour trend without going all out fashion victim and a really easy way to wear pink this season.

Fluro Wool Coat, Topshop Never one to shy away from a trend, Topshop has gone all out on this look at me coat. This is definitely not one for wallflowers, but with a Topshop price tag, is much more accessible than it would first appear. Wear with simple separates and the clean lines of this coat will mean that you wear it, as opposed to the almost luminous colour wearing you.

Pink Jumpsuit, £59, Warehouse I love this jumpsuit even though everything about it screams not me. It's bright, the very fact that it's a jumpsuit means it's really trendy, and it would fall firmly under the category 'clothes my husband hates'. (Not that that ever stops me). However, its well cut, nipped in waist and heavy material is flattering to most and colour, although bright, will suit most skin tones too. Pair with minimal accessories, in white or black, and you're good to go.

Orchid Cotton Silk Skirt, £275, LK Bennett There are two versions of this skirt. The other is a baby pink colour, but I chose this one for my Top 10 Pink Items as its hue is not one very often seen in the shops. Plus I think the darker tone toughens up what is otherwise a very feminine, flowery, full skirt. Its shape means, I think, that only heels will truly flatter the wearer. But even a delicate pair of kitten heels will do!

Raw Hem Straight Legged Jeans, Topshop The loose fit on these trousers and the fraying around the edges stop this pair of jeans becoming too red trouser brigade. Instead, this Topshop offering, is a comfortable low key way of being stylish yet girly at the weekends, or office if your dress code allows. They're also a great in between season item in that they're warm enough to wear now with boots or trainers, and summery enough to wear with strappy sandals come the warmer months.

Pink Silk Shirt, £80, LK Bennett I'll let you into a little secret. I have this shirt on as I type. I am so comfortable, I feel like I'm in my pyjamas. As such, you'll find me wearing it quite a lot. Comfort is not its only selling point however. The colour is extremely wearable, matches most of my skirts and trousers, and silk is always a fab material to wear. Plus at the moment, this item is in the LK Bennett sale and so is a great value way to think pink this season!

Lace Bonded Dress, Whistles I have this dress earmarked for a summer wedding or two this coming matiromonial season. But it could equally be dressed down with flats for a pulled together day look. Whilst quite an expensive item of clothing, Whistles clothes always last due to timeless tailoring and  quality materials so even with this dress's bright colour, you could be wearing it for years to come.

Cashmere Jumper, £188, All Saints Another item that will see us through into the new season is this fab dusty rose jumper from All Saints. Its colour and fabric are delicate yet warm, so will be able to be worn from the sruffiest of jeans for a duvet day at home, to the smartest of skirts at the office. My only problem with it is that I would scarcely take it off given that it is woven from the softest cashmere. It's a great example of how to wear pink this season

Leather handbag, French Connection. Whilst this bag also comes in black, I would always choose this powder pink version, even if pink wasn't having a fashion moment. The shade of pink that French Connection chose for this slouchy number will still make outfits chic; indeed, it will help perk up an outfit in the way a run of the mill black handbag never will. Plus the roomy shape will fit in a multitude of sins.
