Recently I was lucky enough to go on a trip to one of my favourite cities in Europe: Barcelona. My partner in crime and I had a wonderful stay and tried to experience the city as a true native. Having both been to Barcelona before, we stayed clear of the tourist traps. As a consequence, this week's collection of limited edition prints are not awash with Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell images. Instead, Miss W and I ate our body weight in tapas, drank liters of wine (and bubbles courtesy of our hotel) and walked miles soaking up the European city that seems to have it all: swathes of culture, excellent food, a sociable climate and a beach to boot! We were incredibly fortunate with the weather, given it was November when we visited, and as a result, snapping away was that much easier. I found it difficult to stop taking photos of our food and I am now nigh on obsessed with intricate cast iron street lights.
We stayed at the Hotel Arts, which would have been lovely enough in itself, but Lady Luck was travelling with Miss W and me so we were put up in a very plush apartment. It was fantastic to be indulged and see how the other half live for a couple of days. Think a trillion thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, bathrooms the size of an average London flat, and views spanning the coast (with a complimentary telescope for all your nosey neighbour needs). I couldn't recommend a trip to this hotel, and the magnificent city it resides in enough!
PS Sorry for the token Serrano ham pictures. I am addicted.
