On a typically cold wet and rainy English Spring day, my mother and I visited Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire - a place neither of us had had a proper trip to since I was a small child. (I did go to its gardens this Christmas on yet another wet occasion to see them lit up for the festive season - it was stunning, I highly recommend it). The palace itself is famous for so many things - Winston Churchill being just one of them. It is an absolute beauty of a building and set amongst some gorgeous English countryside.Read More

Last weekend, I caught up with two girlfriends I met whilst living in Germany. We had previously settled on having two nights in London, staying in the Notting Hill area. Having researched properties to rent for a couple of nights through AirBnB.com and Homeaway.co.uk, we had found a place that was unintentionally opposite the Blue Door in the film Notting Hill for a very good price. Based on Westbourne Park Road, it was a great location. Not only because it was easy for all of us from our various starting points, but it was literally just off Portobello Road with all its buzz.Read More
Given what happened in London this week, I felt like I couldn't publish my usual blogs without mentioning the terror attack on Westminster on Wednesday. With that in mind, I thought I'd list the things I love about London.Read More
This week, I was lucky enough to go to Soho Farmhouse with one of my oldest friends Miss. T. Luckier still, we were blessed with sunny weather and warm temperatures that made this country outpost of the Soho House chain even more idyllic than it already is. Set within rolling hills near Chipping Norton, on the outskirts of the village of Great Tew, Soho Farmhouse is about an hour and a half from London and a completely decadent slice of heaven.Read More
I love looking at the interiors section of any shop. All the better if the shop itself is dedicated to all things beautiful for home living. Over the years, with my moving house every other time the earth goes round the sun, I have learnt to holdback from buying a shop's entire range the moment I get a new abode's keys. I have learnt the hard way that it's better to live in a place first before decking it out in furniture and home furnishings from top to bottom.
So for this week's top 10, I have listed my favourite online interiors stores - suitable for a wide range of budgets.Read More
There a number of items that are worth investing as much as you can afford in. A house, a bed and the below 10 items that form the backbone of any wardrobe. By spending that little bit more on a pair of shoes, or a leather jacket, for example, I wholeheartedly believe that you will save money in the long term. It means you'll get better cost per wear per item as better made clothes and shoes last longer. Additionally, with such a classic start to any wardrobe, you're less like to purchase random sale items from Topshop or The Gap. My top 10 this week is therefore an expensive one as I'm suggesting the very best of the best. However, all the items below can be bought cheaper elsewhere, with a sliding scale of quality. These are simply examples of what to buy in an ideal world.Read More
At the weekend, I was lucky enough to visit a friend of mine who is living for a short while in the beautiful foot hills of the Midi Pyrenees near the town of Saint Girons. Having been before, it was the perfect destination for me and my burgeoning bump as the littlest things take all the energy from me at the moment. By visiting somewhere I knew well, and with a short flight, any crazy pregnancy worries were allayed, and I found myself flying from Heathrow to Toulouse on a Friday night.Read More
